Beyond The Vivid Unknown is an AI-driven installation that reimagines the groundbreaking 1982 film Koyaanisqatsi as a living system. Trained on the archives of Godfrey Reggio and the music of Philip Glass, the work employs generative machine learning and real-time computer vision to track and respond to viewer presence. As participants move through the space, the installation transitions from untouched landscapes to the rise of humankind and the chaos of our near future—mirroring humanity’s entanglement with technology and implicating the viewer in the narrative. Beyond The Vivid Unknown marks the moment when technology stops reflecting the world—and starts to rewrite it through collective action.
