After years in an Indonesian prison, 28-year-old Popi returns to his coastal village only to find his wife has moved on and started a new family. Adrift in his own life, he takes to the waters of the Celebes Sea, seeking solace and purpose. His solitary journey takes a surreal turn when he rescues a stranded Indonesian coast guard, stumbles upon a hidden trove of gold, and comes face-to-face with a wounded mermaid.
